Lake Highlands residents hold prayer march

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

Dozens of people in a Dallas neighborhood shaken by a series of rapes, prayed for protection and for police to catch the predator.

The same man broke into three homes and attacked three women over the past month in the Lake Highlands area.

Police released sketches of the suspect. He's described as a black or Hispanic male in his 20's, 5'9 to 5'10, 180 to 200 pounds and speaks English with an accent.

More than 100 people showed up to Ferndale and Church Road to pray.

Lake Highlands neighbors made a powerful show of unity for the three victims attacked in the neighborhood.

"We believe that prayer is powerful and that we can dispel the spirit of fear that have fallen over us in the last weeks. We believe that with the presence of God's people in this place that there will be power and that our prayers will be effective and that people will be encouraged. Through this we trust this criminal will be caught," said march organizer Jessica Haas.

People brought letters of support, gifts and money for the three victims.

Officers have increased patrols in the area.
