Basketball court installed for Sweet 16 at Cowboys Stadium

Posted: Updated:

The floor is being installed at Cowboys Stadium for this weekend's NCAA men's basketball South Regional.

Crews began installing the raised basketball court Monday morning for Friday's Sweet 16 games between Kansas and Michigan & Florida and Florida Gulf Coast. The winners of those games will play Sunday for the chance to advance to the Final Four in Atlanta.

This is the first time NCAA Tournament games will be played at Cowboys Stadium.

"We've spent [the last year] trying to design the seating system with the NCAA and their vendors to make sure that the fans have a good experience," said Brett Daniels, stadium spokesperson. "This gives us an opportunity to learn from that and do anything we can do to improve and tweak it to make next year's even more special."

Cowboys Stadium will host the Final Four next year.
