Nearly 500 artists from Tarrant County have been busy the past year making and decorating empty bowls to benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
It's for the bank's 11th annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, which is this Thursday.
Bowls will be for sale and each buyer will be treated to food from 40 restaurants donating their time and effort. The goal is to raise enough money to equal one million meals.
At least 2,500 glass, ceramic and wooden bowls have been made by local artists.
Janet Rodriguez has organized the Empty Bowl artists for the last 11 years.
"It's just really gratifying to be able to take a talent that I have and share it with my community and have it make a difference in somebody's life," Rodriguez said.
