DART could add stations to paid parking program

Posted: Updated:

DART took steps Tuesday to add more pay-to-park locations in hopes the program will bring in more revenue.

A paid parking program was implemented a little less than a year ago at rail stations in Carrollton and Plano with hopes of making tens of thousands of dollars in revenue.

However, after making people pay to park at the lots, DART has lost more than $100,000. Rates to park at the stations are between $2 and $5 and is only for those people who live in non-DART member cities.

Final approval could come at DART's next meeting in April.
