Shooter terrorizes Washtenaw County drivers

The FBI is joining the investigation into a series of roadway shootings in Washtenaw County.

"Sounds kind of surreal.  You hear about it on the national level a lot but when it's local  it kind of hits home a little more," says Paul Capling, a business owner.

Paul Capling owns and operates Luminosity Salon and Spa in Pittsfield Township on Michigan Avenue less than one mile from one of three roadway shootings in Washtenaw County.

A 72-year-old woman, took a bullet in her car door Monday night.  She was not injured.  Then approximately seven miles away near Bridgewater Township on Autsin Road between Schneider and Ernst Roads two separate shooting victims.  A man in a Chevy pickup than a woman in a Pontiac Grand Prix.  Again, both vehicles shot but no one wounded.

Police confirm for Fox 2, bullet fragments are connecting all thee Monday night shootings meaning the same weapon and possibly the same shooter in all three incidents.

"Some psycho with a gun. That's quite alarming.  I hope they catch him quickly," says Capling.

Three vehicles shot.  It's very similar to the circumstances of the I-96 shooter who was arrested last fall and is now held and headed for trial.  With that shooter locked up who is the new sniper?

"It's very very scary to think that this is happening right here where my kids are they drive that way to get to school.  It's very very scary.  This is definitely not fun and games. You are messing with people lives.  You could cause an accident just even shooting at a car. This community is an amazing community.  We are all friends and support one another.  And I just hate to even think about this happening to anybody," says Kim Kaster.
