A woman and her two children escaped an overnight apartment fire but the children's grandmother had to be rushed to the hospital.
Firefighters were called out to the home around 11:15 Wednesday night. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a strong fire and reports that someone was still inside.
The flames were quickly knocked down and when firefighters were able to go inside the unconscious grandmother was found inside a closet. She was rushed to Parkland Hospital in critical condition with inhalation burns. The mother and her two kids got out of the house without any injuries.
Investigators do not know what caused the fire but they believe it started in the kitchen
