CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

King College Prep students will launch a movement to honor one of their own lost to gun violence earlier this year.

Some of Hadiya Pendleton's classmates will be wearing orange on Monday in her honor. They are calling their effort "Project Orange Tree."

The teens said they chose to wear orange because hunters wear the color to stand out among fellow hunters, so they are not mistakenly shot.

Some of the kids will also be fasting until April 4 - which is the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's Death.

Relatives of Hadiya Pendleton are among the specially-invited guests at Monday's White House Easter Egg Roll. Nearly 20 members of the Pendleton family will be there, including Hadiya's mother Cleo and her 10-year-old brother.

The Pendletons will also launch a new foundation in Hadiya's honor this week.
