Two separate house fires keep firefighters busy overnight

Posted: Updated:
THE COLONY, Texas -

Firefighters from The Colony needed the aid of three other departments to help put out two house fires early Thursday morning.

The first fire broke out around 1:15 a.m. at a house in the 4100 block of Ballard Trail. During the fight, one firefighter was injured when a ceiling fan fell on him. One of four people who were home at the time suffered a burn to the arm. The flames were finally put and the damage was contained to an upstairs bedroom and the attic.

While Crews were at the home on Ballard trail, another house fire began in the 4600 block of Lake Park Drive. Since most of The Colony firefighters were already busy, departments from Carrollton, Frisco, and Lewisville came to put out the second fire.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.
