Dallas Zoo celebrates 125 years

Posted: Updated:

The Dallas Zoo is celebrating it's 125th birthday with big weekend events.

Patrons are invited to visit the new "Wild Encounters Stage" where they can see various creatures up close.

Kids are also invited to check out the "Safari Express," a new trackless train for children

There will be plenty of celebrating with music, drummers,  and dancers in the "Wilds of Africa" section and a disco at the family children's zoo, plus games.

The first thousand kids who arrive on Cat Green on Saturday and Sunday at 1PM get free cupcakes and animals will get to eat special birthday treats over the weekend as well.

The Dallas Zoo is the largest in Texas.
