KENNEDALE, Texas -

A project envision by Navy SEAL Chris Kyle before he died, became a reality on Saturday.  Hundreds of teachers and educators started the process of getting a concealed handgun license.

The class was already being put together before the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut but Dalworthington Gardens Police Chief, and friend of Chris Kyle, Bill Waybourn was committed to teaching the class even after Kyle's murder back in February.

The course was free to public and private school employees in North Texas.

Also on hand at the event, Chris Kyle's brother and his wife, who spoke to participants.
