Critic says reward for DA's killer needs to be increased

Posted: Updated:

At least one man says the reward for information leading to the killer of the Kaufman County District Attorney and his wife needs to be raised.

Mike and Cynthia McLelland were found shot to death in their home near Forney on March 30.

They were laid to rest Friday, but there's still no word about any suspects.

The United States Honor Flag founder says the reward needs to be increased.

"The reward money at 200,000 is inadequate. The guys who did this aren't worth 20 bucks, but obviously it hasn't triggered a response," said Chris Heisler.

The U.S. Honor Flag will fly outside the Kaufman County Courthouse tomorrow for the victims.

It also flew outside the Courthouse after the murder of Prosecutor Mark Hasse earlier this year.
