A woman has died after a crash in Richardson along a service road next to Central Expressway.
Richardson police have confirmed there was a shooting, but it is unclear whether the woman died from a bullet wound or the impact of the crash.
Police are working the scene by Dumont Rd., which is in between the Belt Line Road and Spring Valley exits along 75.
Richardson police say the woman committed a traffic violation and an officer tried to stop her. She did not stop and he radioed a description of her vehicle.
A second officer nearby saw the car and tried to pull the woman over, but she again ignored the request according to police.
The woman turned onto Dumont Rd. going toward 75 when a third officer working another incident saw her vehicle. He stepped in front of the car trying to get it to stop. The woman did not stop and the officer was struck by the car, said police.
That officer fired a single shot, which struck the woman's vehicle. The car then went across the service road and hit the guardrail along southbound 75.
The woman was taken to Medical City in Dallas where she was later pronounced dead.
The Richardson police officer struck by the car is doing fine, according to police.
A witness told FOX4 police were trying to get the driver to stop, but she seemingly ignored their request and nearly hit an officer. After that, a police officer shot one time at the vehicle.
