Hurst police have arrested a man they say killed his 3-year-old daughter with blunt force trauma.
According to the arrest warrant, Anastasia Williams' life ended with a beating at the hands of her father, Robert Williams.
Williams was the same person who made a 911 call to tell police there was something wrong. Police believe he beat his daughter on March 21 in an attempt to stop her crying.
The warrant also said the son of Williams' girlfriend saw him go into the little girl's room that night, and heard her scream, "Daddy." The son said after she screamed, he heard several thumps that lasted for 30 to 45 seconds.
The medical examiner noted Anastasia's body was covered with bruises, but the injury that likely killed her was a cut to her liver.
Tuesday afternoon Williams was arrested and charged with murder – serious bodily injury.
Investigators say Williams told police he routinely used corporal punishment on the child. According to court documents, throughout the entire investigation, he never showed remorse or emotion about his daughter's death.
The father is being held in the Hurst jail on a $100,000 bond.
