Two brothers who worked at Garland church face sexual assault charges

Posted: Updated:
GARLAND, Texas -

A youth minister and his brother, who was a church volunteer, are accused of sexually abusing children.

The siblings were both affiliated with the Arapaho Road Baptist church in Garland and that is where investigators say they met their victims. Former youth pastor, 28-year-old Joshua Earls, was arrested in early April on two counts of indecency of a child. He is now in federal custody and is being held at the Seagoville Federal Prison.

His younger brother, 24-year-old Jordan Earls, is charged with indecency with a child and two counts of child sexual assault. Jordan Earls was a volunteer at the church. He is also charged with exchanging sexually explicit videos and pictures with a child.

The alleged incidents involved teenaged girls. The church says it did conduct basic background checks on the men before allowing them to associate with the church.
