JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Clayton County Public Schools will remain accredited after a review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
A 12-member panel ended a 3-day investigation of the district south of Atlanta Wednesday. The school district was scrutinized in 2008 and became the first district in the nation to lose accreditation in nearly 40 years.
Officials said school board members meddled in day-to-day school operations and had frequent public disagreements.
The school system will be reviewed again in 2018.
