PHILADELPHIA -

Fans headed to Thursday night's Phillies and Flyers games couldn't help but notice the stepped up security measures in place just three days after the Boston Marathon bombing.

Security officials tell FOX 29 there is no intelligence on any threats anywhere in Philadelphia, including the sports stadiums.

Philadelphia's counter terrorism unit has been on high alert all week since the bombs were detonated near the marathon's finish line in Boston. Officials say they've responded to numerous reports of suspicious packages.

"We're encouraging people to call the police when they see something that doesn't fit the environment," Joe Sullivan of the city's Counter Terrorism Unit said.

Police are now preparing for next week's Penn Relays, the Broad Street Run and several upcoming sporting and entertainment events. Because backpacks were used in the Boston Marathon attack, officials say they will be banned at the Penn Relays.
