Dog shot in neck with arrow, expected to fully recover

ALLEN, Texas -

The owner of a Chihuahua wants to know who shot her dog in the neck with an arrow. Megann Cretsinger says she was horrified Thursday evening when her dog Betsy came to the back door of her house with an arrow in her neck.  Megann credits a Plano emergency animal hospital with saving Betsy's life and the dog is expected to make a full recovery.

But now, Megann wants to know who in her neighborhood could shoot a dog.  Betsy had apparently gotten out of the yard and when she returned to Megann's house, that's when the arrow was found in the dog.

A Collin County Animal Control officer has been assigned to the case but attempts to reach the officer Sunday evening were unsuccessful.  It's not clear if there are any leads or suspects in the case.
