One found dead in fire at former Uncle Julio's on Greenville Ave.

Posted: Updated:

Demolition of a burnt out former Uncle Julio's was halted Monday morning when a body was found inside the rubble.

The three alarm fire in the 7500 block of Greenville Avenue began just before midnight on Sunday.

When crews arrived the fire was so huge they were unable to attack if from the inside, instead working from the outside with the help of five tower ladders. Firefighters battled the blaze on and off for nearly six hours due to flare ups.

The structure of the building was so badly damaged, crews decided it had to be demolished. It was during the demolition, around 8 a.m., that the body of an unidentified woman was found.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation.
