3 injured, including firefighter, in northwest suburban house fire

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three people were injured, including a firefighter, during a four-alarm fire Sunday night in northwest suburban Lake Zurich.

Firefighters responded at 7:47 to the blaze in the two-story single-family home at 21716 W. Glendale Rd. in unincorporated Lake Zurich, a release from the Lake Zurich fire department said.

One occupant of the home and one bystander were taken to Good Shephard Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.

A firefighter was treated and released for minor injuries on the scene, the release said.

The fire was extinguished in 70 minutes, the release said. 19 suburban fire departments assisted the Lake Zurich fire department on the scene.

An estimate of the damage was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
