A standoff ended Monday when authorities found the suspect inside dead after a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Dallas police.

The standoff occurred at a home along Singleton Boulevard near Loop 12.

Dallas police say the standoff can be traced back to a fight between two roommates in the house on Sunday night.

One of the roommates was hit in the head with a firearm. That roommate eventually was able to leave the house, but the other person barricaded himself inside the house.

The suspect fired at officers during the standoff, according to Dallas police. A tweet from the department showed an armored SWAT vehicle with marks from the bullets.
