20-year-old man wounded in Englewood shooting

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One man was wounded in a shooting in the South Side Englewood neighborhood Tuesday night.

A 20-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6900 block of South Halsted Street when he heard gunshots about 11:55 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. The man ran to his girlfriend's car and realized he had been shot in the right side of his abdomen. He was driven to the 12300 block of South Union Street, at which point police and fire authorities were notified, Alfaro said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, Alfaro said.

Nobody was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
