Board votes to begin water restrictions in June

Posted: Updated:
WYLIE, Texas -

North Texas Municipal Water District customers will be restricted to the amount of water they use beginning June1st.

The board voted to implement Stage 3 rules, meaning homes and businesses will only be able to water their yards once a week. The rule is being put in place because the main water source, Lake Lavon, is below normal levels and the other source of water, Lake Texoma, has been invaded by Zebra Mussels.
