Venice, CA -

(FOX 11) A burglary suspect was taken into custody today after refusing to come down from the roof of an apartment building in Venice for several hours, police said.

Officers were sent to the 600 block of West Sixth Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. on a burglary call, Los Angeles police spokeswoman Sara Faden said. They saw a man on the roof of the three-story building and tried to get him to surrender, but he refused and a standoff ensued.

After about three hours, the man came down and was taken into custody for questioning, Faden said. No injuries were reported.
