2 men wanted for attacking cab driver

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are searching for two men wanted for aggravated battery after attacking a cab driver in the West Loop last January, according to an alert from Area Central detectives.

About 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, two men who were passengers in the cab beat the driver near the intersection of Lake and Des Plaines streets, the alert said. The men then ran off in an unknown direction.

The cabbie was taken in serious condition to Rush University Medical Center after the attack with injuries to his head, a broken nose and broken teeth, police said.

The men were both described as white with black hair, between 30 and 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8 respectively, weighing 180 pounds each, the alert said.
