HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -

A 2-year-old boy reported missing was found on Monday in Henry County.

Investigators say Amari Nathan Anderson had last been seen at 313 Preston Creek Drive in McDonough at around 11:00 a.m.

Police said that the mother told them she turned her back for a second and the toddler disappeared.

"Evidently, he is a very inquisitive 2-year-old,"said Sgt. Joey Smith of the Henry County Police Department.

After a four-hour search involving police, fire and K-9 units, the boy was located around 3 p.m. at a neighbor's apartment, FOX 5's Chris Shaw reports.

"When she returned into the home, he was evidently there crying and wanting to go home," Smith said.

Paramedics checked the boy out and found him to be a little hungry, but OK.

"We're going to make sure that every question is answered. How the child left the apartment, and how he was able to be gone. So we're going to try to find out if there was a history or something similar to that. But we're just very relieved that he's safe," Smith said.

The boy was reunited with his grateful mother.
