Hometown Hero: Humane Society and Mayfest

Posted: Updated:

When you go to Mayfest on the banks of the Trinity River, you can go home with a fabulous furry friend.

Mayfest partners with the Humane Society of North Texas and has a special tent with cats and dogs just waiting for a forever home. Last year 100 animals were adopted at the Fort Worth festival.

This year they hope to break that record and make lots of North Texans new pet parents.  The Humane Society can tell you everything about the health and personality of your new pet.

For the first time, you'll get two free tickets to Mayfest if you adopt from the Humane Society of North Texas between now and May 5th. Call 817-332-4768 ext. 104 for dogs and ext. 102 for cats.

So, whether your choice is cute & canine or fabulous & feline...you can adopt a 4-legged lifetime friend at the 41st annual Mayfest.

This North Texas tradition has given $6.3 million to Fort Worth City Parks & Rec., Streams & Valleys and the Junior League of Fort Worth. Get ready for family fun, food, music, the iconic confetti eggs, pets to adopt, shows & lots more. Tickets for adults are $8 and $5 for kids.

The 2013 MayFest is May 2-5. FOX 4 is the proud media sponsor.
