Lawyers for Major League Baseball player Torii Hunter's son are suing those who accused Darius Hunter of sexual assault last year.
Eight people are named in the suit, which is seeking more than $10 million for defamation and slander.
The case in Prosper centered on five teens accused of giving girls Xanax at parties in May 2012, then taping themselves having sex with those girls.
Charges against all five teens, including Hunter, were dropped in February.
"Sexual assault is a horrible crime, but false accusations of sexual assault are every bit as horrible," the lawsuit states. "False accusations of sexual assault can emotionally, socially, and economically destroy a person even if there is no conviction."
The preliminary statement of the lawsuit is notable for quoting the Michael Jackson hit song "Billie Jean."
"A famous singer and song writer once said in his song titled 'Billie Jean' - And mother always told me, 'Be careful who you love And be careful what you do, cause the lie becomes the truth' – Michael Jackson," the suit said.
