Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price says Mike Miles is not the man to run Dallas ISD and he needs to go.
It's part of a letter Price has sent to more than 75 pastors across Dallas, asking them not to let the superintendent speak in their churches.
Miles' plans include not renewing the contracts of some principals who are popular in the communities where those DISD schools are located.
In the letter, Price makes reference to Pontius Pilate – the man who turned Jesus over to be crucified.
"It has come to my attention that now Pontius Pilate plans to parade through many of your churches with a fake Jesus in tow," Price wrote in the letter. "It amazes me, but I must say that I am not surprised. While Pilate may find no fault in the prisoner that has been charged to judge, we do. Thankfully, this time, we get a chance to make it right."
Superintendent Miles says he has no plans to change his focus and says he want leaders talking about education, but he's trying to elevate the dialogue.
The next phase of Miles' plan includes recommendations of principals he doesn't want renewed. That could come as soon as May 9.
