The Talker: Lifestyle contracts becoming popular among couples

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A lot of people have strong feelings--good or bad--about prenuptial agreements. So, what will they think about a "lifestyle contract?"

"Lifestyle contracts" are a legal trend that started with celebrity marriages and have started to be adopted by other couples.

They're agreements on the day-to-day minutiae of their lives: how often they'll go out to dinner, how often and where they'll vacation, even how often they'll go to the gym, how much they can each weigh, and how often they have sex.

The contracts are usually contained within a larger pre-nuptial agreement, but even some unmarried couples are now said to be getting them.

Attorneys say the lifestyle clauses are generally not enforceable in court, but advocates say they set expectations and let both people feel secure about what the relationship will actually be like.

What are your thoughts about lifestyle contracts? Would you want one? What would you put in it? Leave your comments on our Facebook page.
