Teenage girl fights on video

Posted: Updated:

Forget sweet 16. These girls in Queens are brawling like they're in a pay-per-view championship fight. A group of high school girls pounced on some middle school girls, and the younger girls fought for their lives. Samatha Gonzalez, 14, an honor student, survived with a fractured nose, two black eyes, and bruises all over her body.

"I was scared maybe one of those kids had a gun or knife and they would have killed us," Samatha said.

The trend has become so sick and disturbing that one teen even forced her 7-year-old sister and another girl to fight.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere said the emotional scars can outlast the physical ones for victims and that it's a rush for the attackers.

Videos like these are some of the most popular posted anywhere, some drawing hundreds of thousands of views. Girl fight fans and participants even have their own Facebook page where they critique the moves.

But when it's your face that gets messed up there's nothing entertaining about it.

One video shows Christina Campos, 14, on the ground while another girl pulls her hair and stomps her. She was also bitten on her arm and had to get stitches.

"When she kicked me in my eye, I didn't notice I was bleeding until after," Christina said.

FBI crime statistics show that arrests of juvenile girls dramatically are on the rise. The acts of bullying have become such a problem they're drawing the attention of legislators, including former prosecutor Peter Vallone Jr.

These girl fights are also worrying parents. Now they have to warn their daughters to not only watch out for the bad boys, but also the bad girls.

"They could have killed my daughter," Nina Kunicki, a parent, said. "One person could kill you, imagine 10 to 15 kids banging on your head."
