Ask Tony and Tucker: coldest just before sunrise

Posted: Updated:

Our Ask Tony and Tucker question comes from Don in Round Hill. He asked, "I attend the Burning Man festival in the Neveda desert each year at the end of August. One of my fellow attendees mentioned to me that just before sunrise is the coldest time of the night. We stayed up and noticed a definite decrease in temperature just minutes before sunrise. What causes this? And is this something that only occurs in a desert climate or is this a common occurrence in other geographic areas?"
