PHOENIX -

As we've seen, hundreds converged at the courthouse to hear the verdict come down, but for those who couldn't make it, they took to Twitter, where for a few hours, Jodi Arias began trending nationwide.

There has been so much interest in this case that Twitter really blew up moments before the verdict was read.

We saw tweets from people across the country and the world -- some from Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom -- all interested in seeing what was going to happen and connecting with others who have been watching this all unfold.

For those following this case, Wednesday was the culmination of months of testimony and salacious details.

Seconds after the verdict was read, tweets began popping up at a break-neck rate -- reacting to the guilty verdict.

Many voicing their relief and agreement with the jury's decision.

One person quickly tweeted "The verdict is in and she is guilty -- Jodi Arias is guilty!" @Simply_Jaded

Another simply saying, "Jodi Arias guilty!" @meaganmouse

A lot of tweets focused on Juan Martinez, the prosecutor in the case.

"I have so much joy in my heart right now -- Thank you Juan Martinez, #justicefortravis" @DazzleD1va

"I love you Juan Martinez" ‏@careyanneb

Many also posted about Travis Alexander and his family.

"Good job jury! Justice is served for Travis! Finally! Hope the family sleeps a little better tonight knowing she's guilty! #JodiArias" ‏@megan916

#JodiArias was the number one trending hashtag on Twitter for awhile.  Other words that were trending included guilty, Juan Martinez and first degree.

Now this case is not over -- so we can expect to see a whole lot more when sentencing begins.
