Eight children taken to a Dallas firehouse after being left alone will remain in CPS custody for the time being.
Taniah Peoples declined to talk to reporters after a hearing on Friday determined her children would remain in foster care. But the mother could still get her children back.
Peoples will have to undergo parenting classes, counseling and random drug and alcohol tests.
"The plan is reunification, if she completes all the things the judge wants her to complete," said CPS spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales.
The courts will eventually decide if Peoples is fit to get her children back.
