2 dead, 2 injured in L.I. crash

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

A head-on vehicle crash killed two men and critically injured a woman and her child on Long Island Friday afternoon. 

Suffolk County police say 53-year-old Robert Fattibene was driving a Dodge Durango northbound on Commack Road when he crossed over into the southbound lane. He collided with a Nissan Altima driven by 32-year-old Herver Leonel Garcia Munoz around 6:35 p.m. who was headed southbound.   

Both Fattibene of Smithtown and Garcia Munoz of Brentwood, were killed at the scene according to police. 

One passenger in the Nissan, 24-year-old Yesenia Marilu Martinez Vasquez was taken by a helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. Her three-year-old child, Justin Martinez was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The three-year-old is the son of Garcia Munoz. 

Both the mother and child are listed in critical condition.  

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
