DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Family and friends are gathering Monday to remember the life of Brian Woehlke, the 29-year-old firefighter who was killed last week while crews battled a blaze at a Westland strip mall.

The service for Woehlke begins Monday morning at Church of the Divine Child in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn at 11 a.m.

Woehlke's survivors included his wife Jennifer, and 13-month-old daughter, Ava.

A fund has been set up following Woehlke's death. Contributions to the "Brian Woehlke Charity" may be made to the Westland Fire Fighters Charity, P.O. Box 851320, Westland, MI 48185, or may be delivered to any of five Wayne-Westland fire stations.
