An Irving teenager has been arrested on multiple charges for allegedly forcing a 15-year-old girl into prostitution.
Travis Lekas, 17, allegedly took the girl to his house where "she remained under the influence of drugs and alcohol" for three days, according to Irving police. The two knew each other from Irving Nimitz High School.
It was during this time Lekas forced the girl into prostitution and sexually assaulted her.
"I think he talked to her, I think he coerced her. He's a little bit older than she was and she went to his home not with the intentions of being provided with drugs and alcohol and becoming impaired and becoming a victim of sexual assaults," said John Argumaniz with the Irving Police Department.
In his family's trailer between April 29th and May 2nd, police said Lekas gave the girl marijuana, Xanax and alcohol to keep her nearly unconscious so men could have sex with her. In exchange, Lekas was given money and drugs.
The girl went to police on May 3rd and Lekas was arrested May 13th. More arrests could be coming.
Lekas, according to police, attempted to recruit other girls into prostitution and police are trying to find those teens.
Irving ISD officials said they are cooperating with police, but cannot say any more since the investigation is ongoing.
"We are treating this matter very seriously," said Superintendent Dr. Dana T. Bedden in a statement.
Apparently Lekas wasn't too popular at his high school.
"No one likes him at school because he starts fights," said Nimitz High School junior Jesus Saldana.
"He always had girls behind him, like two girls right beside him. He would always walk around like that," said Vanessa Rodriguez, also a junior.
Police said he also tried to recruit girls at nearby Bowie Middle School into prostitution.
Lekas is charged with one count of human trafficking of a person younger than 18-years-old, one count of compelling prostitution and one count of sexual performance by a child.
Lekas' bond has been set at $175,000 and he remains in custody at the Irving jail.
