Mom takes stand in children murdered trial

Posted: Updated:

A Dallas jury listened to a woman describe the terrible moments before she found out her two sons had been killed in 2011.

The boys' father is on trial for drowning them..

Accused child killer Naim Muhammad wiped his eyes with a tissue as Kenitra Sampson described how her ex kidnapped her and their boys Naim Jr., 5, and Elijah, 3. It happened as she was walking the boys to school. Sampson testified Muhammad threatened to kill them.

Sampson said she jumped out of the car to get a nearby Dallas County constables help. The constable did not chase after the suspect because of chase policies.

Finally, Sampson described the horrible moment she learned her children's fate.

"When I walked in everybody was just crying and what's going on somebody please tell me something. One of the detectives, she told me that they were dead," said Kametra Sampson.

The children's maternal grandmother also testified how problematic it was to get Mohammed away from her daughter.

An uncle testified Mohammed tried to break a window and grab the third child who is an infant. He testified the defendant yelled, "Your nephew's already dead."

The trial continues Wednesday.
