A man accused of drowning his own two sons was found guilty by a jury in just six minutes on Wednesday.
The trial of Naim Muhammad now proceeds to the punishment phase, where his defense attorney hopes to avoid persuade a jury to give his client life in prison instead of the death penalty.
The defense called no witnesses and told the jury to convict Muhammad, likely accounting for the short deliberation time.
Muhammad kidnapped his two children in 2011 as they walked to a local elementary school with their mother.
The mom was able to escape and alert authorities, but hours later the boys were drowned in a creek and their bodies found in the trunk of a car.
