Man laying on tracks killed by train

A man was struck and killed by a train when witnesses say he was laying on the tracks Sunday morning.

Tempe police say a Union Pacific train was heading southbound near 10th Street and Broadway when it hit a man who was on the tracks.

The man died at the scene.

According to a witness, the man was laying on the tracks and seemed to be relaxing.

Police say a conductor and the man both called 911 when they saw the man on the tracks.

The man was later identified as 27-year-old Shane Tsosie.

This is the second time a man has been killed by a train this week.
