Funeral procession routes for fallen firefighter, police officer

Funerals for Phoenix firefighter Brad Harper and Phoenix police officer Daryl Raetz will commence on Friday and Saturday.

Services for Harper will be at Christ's Church of the Valley on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

The procession to the cemetery will run:

Start: 7007 W. Happy Valley Road
West from 7000 W. Happy Valley Road to 67th Avenue,
South on 67th Avenue to SR 101,
East on SR 101 to the I-17,
South on I-17, exiting on McDowell Road,
Westbound on McDowell Road to 27th Avenue,
Southbound on 27th Avenue to the west entrance of the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren.
The procession of Fire vehicles will continue South on 27th Avenue to Van Buren, then
Eastbound on Van Buren, where they will be parked on Van Buren, from 27th Avenue to the I-17.
 
PLEASE NOTE:  As the last of the procession passes the various check points, the roads will be re-opened.  However, please expect significant delays from approximately 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  
 
In addition, Van Buren from the I-17 to 27th Avenue will be closed from approximately 3 p.m. until the internment ceremony concludes at approximately 7 p.m.
 
Services for Raetz will be at Christ's Church of the Valley on Saturday at 9 a.m. 

The procession to the cemetery will run:

Start: 7007 W. Happy Valley Road
West from 7000 W. Happy Valley Road to 67th Avenue,
South on 67th Avenue to SR 101,
East on SR 101 to 7th Street,
North on 7th Street, to the westbound SR 101 Frontage Road,
Westbound on SR 101 Frontage Road to the Phoenix Memorial Cemetery at 200 W. Beardsley.
 
PLEASE NOTE:  As the last of the procession passes the various check points, the roads will be re-opened.  However, please expect significant delays from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
 
In addition, the westbound SR 101 frontage road from 7th Street to 7th Avenue from approximately 10 a.m. until the internment ceremony concludes at approximately 2 p.m.

Gov. Jan Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset Friday in honor of fallen Phoenix firefighter Bradley Harper.
