Canseco takes polygraph test

DALLAS -

Jose Canseco may have the evidence he needs to show he's telling the truth about rape allegations against him.

The former Major League star and new member of the Fort Worth Cats took a polygraph test today in Dallas to refute charges made by a woman in Las Vegas.

Canseco seemed disappointed by the number of cameras awaiting his arrival Saturday morning.

"This is all I get for this special occasion, four people?" said Canseco.

The 48-year-old paid to take a polygraph test to discredit claims by a Las Vegas woman that he sexually assaulted her at his house.

Canseco broke the news himself via Twitter Wednesday saying Las Vegas police had come to talk to him about the allegations.

"I am in shock any woman would say that I raped her", said Canseco.

He is in the metroplex this weekend as part of a 10-day contract to play and coach for the Fort Worth Cats.

Canseco says he's losing sleep and money over the rape allegations.

"Just because of this unfounded charge I've lost job opportunities already", Canseco said.

After three hours taking the polygraph test, Canseco came back to tell us what happened.

"I am completely innocent of this charge," according to Canseco.

Senior Polygraph Examiner, Skip Ensley, of Dallas Polygraph Services says his test shows Canseco is telling the truth.

"There was no deception indicated. One of the cleanest I've seen, been doing this since 1982. It's a pleasure to clear someone of false allegations", said Ensley.

Canseco says he hopes the results are enough to satisfy the police.

He says he doesn't know what his accuser's motives are and may sue her for defamation.
