L.I man arrested for DWI with daughter in car

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Suffolk County police arrested a man who was driving drunk with his daughter in the car after he caused a three-car crash on Long Island Friday afternoon.

Police say 41-year-old Kyle Wilm of Huntington, was driving a pickup truck on East Main Street in Huntington around 5:05 p.m. when he hit into the back of a Ford SUV. The Ford SUV then struck a Toyota SUV.

A police officer at the scene noticed that Wilm was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. His 6-year-old daughter was in a booster seat in the back of the vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash and Wilm's vehicle was impounded.

Wilm's daughter was released to her mother and Child Protection Services was notified, according to police.    

Wilm was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Passenger 15-years old or uounger (Leandra's Law), Driving While Intoxicated and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, May 25.
