Woman killed when struck by a car in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police say a woman died when she was hit by a vehicle on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn early Sunday morning.

The accident happened shortly after midnight when the 53-year-old victim was walking in the left lane on the parkway when she was struck by a Nissan Altima traveling westbound.

Police arrived at the scene and found the victim dead upon arrival.

The 45-year-old driver remained at the scene. Police are still investigating the incident.
