Fort Worth boy dies after gunfire into house

Posted: Updated:

A 12-year-old boy has died after two gunmen fired repeatedly into a Fort Worth house on Saturday night.

Witnesses told police a four-door, dark colored vehicle pulled up to the home in the 4400 block of Eastover Avenue shortly before midnight on Saturday. Two suspects, according to the witnesses, got out of the car and opened fire on the home.

The 12-year-old boy was standing outside the home when the shots started. Another youth, age 16, was asleep inside the home and was also injured. Others inside the house were not hurt during the shooting.

The 12-year-old was taken to an area hospital after the shooting, but died from his injuries on Monday morning.

Police believe a high-powered rifle was used by at least one of the suspects.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Ft. Worth police at (817) 392-4338.
