A California man is in trouble for selling his wife's diamond engagement ring for about $10.
The $23,000 ring was under a pillow inside a watch box that Eric Cloutier sold at a garage sale. His wife had put it there for safe keeping while she went to the hospital to give birth.
Eric thought a garage sale would be a fun family activity for the other kids.
"So I saw this big box in my closet and it's been there for more than a year, probably worth $120 to $130, but I don't need it. I never use it. So I brought that downstairs and I look quick in it, and there was nothing," he said.
Racquel Cloutier said she started crying when she found out what had happened.
"I dunno, I feel naked. It's like every time you look down at your finger you... I don't know why I keep crying about it, I just want my ring back," she said.
The family is hoping the lady who bought the box will bring it back. They are offering a reward.
