DeSoto spraying for West Nile on Thursday night

Two neighborhoods in DeSoto will be sprayed for West Nile Virus on Thursday night.

The two areas will be ground sprayed after a high number of mosquitos were found in traps according to Dallas County officials. The spraying is considered a preventative measure and begins at 10 p.m. and lasts until both areas are done.

The two areas being sprayed are:

Zone 1 - bordered by W. Belt Line, S. Elerson, W. Parkerville and S. Cockrell Hill.

Zone 2 - bordered by E. Belt Line, S. Parks, S. Hampton and E. Parkerville.

The county asks residents in those neighborhoods to stay indoors during spraying.
