Arlington's Old Nessie beheaded

Posted: Updated:

The beloved dragon at Allen Saxe Park is now headless.

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department said vandals recently removed Old Nessie's head, much to the disappointment of many children who loved to climb on the plastic play sculpture.

There are no security cameras in the area so police are asking for help in identifying a suspect or suspects. They believe the creature's noggin is now a trophy of sorts in someone's home.

Anyone with information is encouraged to email or call 817-459-5498.

It will cost the city about $5,000 to fix the damage.
