Azle police find missing Springtown woman

Posted: Updated:

First responders found a missing 61-year-old on Tuesday in a heavily wooded part of Azle.

Sky4 showed officials helping the woman to a stretcher before being loaded onto an ambulance around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Donna Johnstone, of Springtown, went missing after a doctor's appointment in Dallas on Monday.

Johnstone's family last spoke to her around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, when she told them she saw a street sign at the corner of Lakeview Drive and Broadway Avenue.

Springtown police were able to discover the location of Johnstone's phone, which placed it in Azle. Her car was parked in a driveway on Broadway Ave., but she was not there when police found the vehicle.

Azle police and fire officials along with help from other agencies are searching a wooded area and going door to door to look for the woman.

The family told police Johnstone had surgery about a week and a half ago and they believe a pain pump and medications have left her disoriented.
