Residents of the Buckner Terrace neighborhood in Dallas are demanding action after a rash of burglaries.
There have been at least 12 burglaries in the past few weeks in the neighborhood according to police reports.
One resident, in her 90s, had her home broken into twice in the same day.
"I wasn't terrified. I just thought if I could get my hands on him he'd know he'd been scratched and pulled apart," the elderly woman said. "I was so furious to think he'd come in twice in the same morning."
Dallas police posted surveillance video asking for help in identifying two burglars who broke into a home in the middle of the day on Elkridge Drive. They took about $4,000 worth of electronics, including a flat screen TV and laptop, and were out in a matter of seconds and still haven't been caught.
Some residents say they are arming themselves. One resident said he keeps his gun with him at all times now, in addition to a big dog and security cameras as other precautions.
