YUMA, Ariz. -

A 20-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old man was injured after a driver lost control and collided with a pole on Friday.

Yuma County Sheriff's Office deputies say a car was driving in the 14200 block of Avenue G. when it lost control, crossed the center line and hit an APS guide wire and APS steel pole.

When the car came to rest, it burst into flames.

Deputies say the driver, Francisco Garica Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger was flown to Maricopa Medical Center for life threatening injuries. His name wasn't released as deputies are trying to notify his family.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but deputies say alcohol appears to be a factor.
